California to Alaska in my Cessna 185

May 2019 I flew to San Francisco to pick up Cessna 185 in Lincoln and then to pick up a very good friend of mine in Sacramento who flew down from Seattle where he lives with his family. We headed for Alaska, a 2000+ nautical miles trip. Up the west coast of US we tried to fly by most of the awesome volcanoes. The weather was not perfect, but we managed to get fantastic views of Mt. Shasta, Crater Lake, Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams and Mt. Rainier before we flew into Harvey Field, just northeast of Seattle. Second day was very bad weather and we only made it to Diamond Point north of Olympic Peninsula, less than an hour of flight time from Harvey Field. Third day had fantastic calm and sunny weather, so we flew up along the west coast of Vancouver Island, up through all the fjords of western Canada, into Alaska where immigration was done at Kitchigan and then finally into Juneau where we stayed for the night. And finally, last day had bad weather along the coast but beautiful weather over the mountains. So our small airplane took us by Mt. Logan (highest mountain in Canada), into a small strip next to McCarthy and finally straight into Lake Hood where our trip ended.

After flying from Canada, my friend returned to Seattle. I flew up to Talkeetna to meet a group of 5 Danish pilots who was about to enjoy Alaska for their first time.
