Twelve days in Púcon

November 2023 – A mi me encanta Chile. We spent 12 days in Púcon, a city known for its outdoor attractions, located just over 700 km south of Santiago, Chile. Our adventures included climbing four volcanoes, marveling at countless Araucaria trees, white water rafting, soaking in geothermal baths, exploring cold lakes, navigating lava tunnels, witnessing stunning waterfalls, and enjoying numerous breathtaking hikes. We reached the edge of the five-kilometer-wide, glacier-filled crater of Volcán Sollipolli, summited Volcán Quetrupillán, and approached within 400 meters of the peak of Volcán Villarrica — Chile’s most active volcano — which glows red at night (its summit was closed for safety reasons). Lastly, we ascended over 1,600 meters to the ice-free summit of Volcán Llaima, the country’s third most active volcano, passing through remarkable snow and ice formations. Felipe, our exceptional guide, led us on all these climbs. 🙂.
